Soxhlet and Soxhlet-Type Extractors

Used when compounds have limited solubility, glass Soxhlet extractors successfully separate lipids from solid material. With the temperature resistance needed to heat solvents, the specialized apparatuses allow vapors to travel up the arm where a thimble blocks solid material from escaping. Designed to have cooling vapor enter the solid contained chamber, percolators circulate the now warm solvent liquid to dissolve desired compounds. Incorporated vapor tubes protect the bulbed siphon tube within Soxhlet extractor systems.
