Three Domains of Classification: A Phylogenetic Tree Study Kit
In 1977 Carl Woese of the University of Illinois shook the world of biology and its long established tree of life when he announced the discovery of an entirely new group of organisms – the Archaea. Dismissed by many, further proof was provided when a vent organism (Methanoccus jannaschii) was sequenced.
Today this new phylogeny is the basis for a range of new explorations in microbial biology from the origins of life to its diversity. Developed by Susan Offner and based on the pioneering work of Woese, this kit takes students to the cutting edge of evolution, classification, and beyond.
Includes: chart (61 cm x 91 cm), color transparency, student notebook (1 pad of 30 drilled worksheets), teacher’s guide.

Biodiversity At The Bell Kit
Illustrate the diversity of life in just a few minutes each day. This comprehensive video program, developed by high school biology teacher Ronald L. Reimink, exposes students to the wide variety of plants, animals and other creatures that live on Earth.
