They perform the same tests hematologists use. Students also practice cross-matching, which is vital for successful blood transfusions.
Students use Ward's Simulated Blood to re-create ABO blood-typing techniques practiced in real labs and determine what types are compatible for transfusions. This kit includes a teacher’s guide, a student copymaster, and enough material for six setups.
Ordering information: This kit includes Simulated Blood of Recipient: Type B; Simulated Blood of Mr. Smith: Type A; Simulated Blood of Mr. Jones: Type B; Simulated Blood of Mr. Green: Type AB; Simulated Blood of Ms. Brown: Type O, simulated anti-A typing serum, simulated anti-A typing serum, simulated recipient serum, blood-typing slides, a package of toothpicks, and micro-centrifuge tubes. A micro-centrifuge is required but not included.
