Single and double slit diffraction demonstrate the wave behavior of light. A single slit diffraction creates varying bright central line. Double slit diffraction produces an interference pattern with regularly spaced bright and dark lines. The variation of these distances creates varying patterns that are predicable using the appropriate formulas.

The set includes a single slit diffraction slide with five varying gaps.

The pair of double slit diffraction slides consists of one slide with a consistent slit width, but varying separations; the other has a consistent separations but varying slit widths.
