This professional development refresher course supports experienced Chemical Hygiene Officers (CHOs) in updating their safety knowledge, reinforcing core responsibilities, and strengthening their leadership role in school science safety. Participants revisit topics such as chemical hazard identification, risk mitigation strategies, proper equipment use and maintenance, emergency procedures including spill response, and legal and ethical obligations tied to lab safety. The asynchronous format gives CHOs the flexibility to stay current, maintain compliance and lead with confidence in high school STEM environments. These courses are created by Safer STEM and Rutgers University in alignment with the latest guidelines from OSHA, NSTA and the American Chemical Society's Division of Chemical Health and Safety.
