Working Principle: The device functions on the principle of capacitance measurement, which relies on the dielectric properties of the sample. Since water has a higher dielectric constant compared to grains, the instrument detects moisture content based on how the presence of water alters the sample’s capacity to store electrical energy. The measured capacitance is then converted into a moisture percentage using pre-calibrated settings for different commodities. This ensures precise and crop-specific results.
Operation: The moisture meter is user-friendly and designed for quick measurements. The user selects the commodity via the membrane keypad, pours grains into the funnel, and releases them into the test cup by twisting the lever. Once the sample is in place, pressing the read switch instantly displays the moisture content on the LCD screen.
