SYBR® Safe DNA Stain, 10,000 X, Edvotek

SYBR® Safe is a DNA stain that glows bright green when exposed to UV or blue-light.

• More sensitive than ethidium bromide
• Non-mutagenic

Like ethidium bromide, SYBR® Safe binds specifically to the DNA double helix. Unlike ethidium bromide, SYBR® Safe is less mutagenic and more sensitive, making it safer to use, particularly in the classroom.

To pre-stain your gel before you perform electrophoresis: use 5 µl of the bulk stock for every 50 ml of molten agarose.

To use as a post-stain after your gel has been run: use 7.5 ul of the bulk stock for every 75 ml of electrophoresis buffer.

Cover staining tray with foil and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
