The simplicity of this design makes a very efficient unit for investigating the magnetic field of an electric current. Smaller than previous models, it supports a wire coil approximately 18 cm on a side with a horizontal masonite shelf intersecting its middle. Included are 335 cm of stranded copper wire and a large 4 cm diameter compass.
