Gymnothorax miliaris. This slippery saltwater predator lurks inside reef crevaces in dark depths of water waiting for prey. Fascinating for dissections, this eel specimen features a second set of jaws, called pharyngeal jaws, that can extend to help in the capture of swallowing of prey. Size: 12–24".
