Cellular Respiration Kit

In this experiment, students learn how to apply the gas laws to the function of the microrespirometer. Students will observe cell respiration of germinating seeds and describe the effects of temperature on the rate of cell respiration.

Kit contents: Pipettes, Vials, Glass beads, Peas, Potassium hydroxide solution (15%), Cork stoppers, Absorbent cotton, Non-absorbent cotton, 1 mL pipettes, Parafilm, Instructions.

Required but not included: trays (10 need to be at least 14"" L), thermometers (10), small weights (to hold vials in the water), timers, 100 mL graduated cylinders, cork borer, tape, silicon glue, ice, and personal safety equipment.
