Interference Model

The concentric circles on each of these two transparent acetate plates help make the concept of wave interference perfectly clear.

• One plate is 9 cm x 9 cm; the other is 9 cm x 12 cm

When the plates are laid on top of one another and moved, the circles, representing wavefronts, create visually dramatic patterns of interference. The plates can be used on an overhead projector.
