Students use WARD’S new method of magnifying cells and Daphnia netting to view the Daphnia’s heartbeat. Students will familiarize themselves with some common stimulants and depressants by testing four different compounds and analyzing the results of these substances on the Daphnia’s heartrate. By observing how drugs affect a living organism, it becomes easier for students to correlate the effects of drugs on their own bodies.
