In this simulated RT-PCR experiment, students will explore the diagnostic test used worldwide to diagnose and monitor the spread of COVID-19.
- This kit includes enough materials for 25 students in 5 groups
- Time required: Set up - 30 minutes; PCR - 2 hours or overnight; Electrophoresis - 45 minutes
Reverse-transcription PCR (RT-PCR) is the gold standard for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 due to the sensitivity, specificity, and feasibility of the test.
