Hydrogen/Oxygen Generator Demonstration
Chemistry Educational Materials
Electrochemistry Learning Activities
Get a big bang out of bubbles . . . and a bang for your buck too. This demonstration, developed by teacher Jonathan Harger, lets you simply and easily create hydrogen and oxygen-filled bubbles that, when ignited, pop loudly enough to grab any student’s attention. The bubbles are created electrolytically, using an easily set-up adaptation of a Hoffman apparatus (but at a fraction of the price). Includes instructions. Power supply and flame source are not included. Grades 10–12.
