Grow plants without soil.
Using hydroponics to grow plants makes it much easier to observe the effects of certain minerals on plant growth. Your students will compare plants grown in soil with plants grown hydroponically. They will also conduct experiments with nutrient solutions lacking key minerals, such as iron and calcium. This will allow them to see first hand how these missing nutrients affect plant growth.
