A DynaScan interferometer with KBr optics enables this unit to deliver a scan range of up to 8,350 cm-1 with 0.5 cm-1 resolution and 9,3000:1 peak-peak signal-to-noise per five second scan. The included Spectrum 10 Software is designed to introduce FT-IR spectroscopy to students, with 15 interactive experiments. Each experiment successfully develops hands-on skills in sampling techniques for a variety of sample types while demonstrating the value of using FT-IR spectroscopy for identification and verification of chemical materials. An IR Tutor multimedia program is also included and provides an introduction to the theory of IR and the interpretation of IR spectra.
