This organism can be isolated from many human urinary tract infections, as well as polluted water and sewage. It is commonly identified by its distinctive grape-like smell (trimethylamine) or because it can turn the agar light green due to production of a blue pigment (pyocyanin).

Freshwater; unbranched filaments with cylindrical- to slightly barrel-shaped cells; shows the characteristic H-pieces upon fragmentation of the filament.

Each culture shipment is prepared in our laboratories and includes the "Working with Algae & Cyanobacteria" manual which contains detailed instructions for subculturing and use.

The set includes 200 heparinized, mylar wrapped, hematocrit tubes, and six capillary tube trays with sealant. Each tray has two rows of slots numbered 1 through 24 for easy tube storage.
