Anti-GRIK1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-GRIK1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes. Grik1, also known as glutamate receptor 5, belongs to the kainate family of glutamate receptors, which are composed of four subunits and function as ligand-activated ion channels. Grik1 is expressed in GABAergic interneurons of the hippocampus and are thought to participate in the formation of various subtypes of kainate receptors with Grik2 and KA2. Stimulation of Grik1 leads to intracellular calcium release and activation of protein kinase C. Excessive activation has been associated with psychiatric, neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. Numerous isoforms of Grik1 are known to exist and may be subject to RNA editing within the second transmembrane domain, which is thought to alter the properties of ion flow.

Anti-EIF2AK2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-EIF2AK2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

The interferon-inducible, double-stranded RNA (dsRNA)-dependent protein kinase PKR is a member of the eukaryotic initiation factor-2 alpha (eIF2-alpha) kinase family, possessing serine-threonine kinase activity and two dsRNA-binding motifs that acts as part of the innate immune system. Upon binding dsRNA, PKR undergoes a conformational change leading to its activation and its phosphorylation of the translation factor eIF2, resulting in a general shutdown of protein synthesis and induction of apoptosis through upregulation of caspase-8 and capsase-9 activity in order to prevent the production of more viruses. To evade the antiviral effects of PKR, viruses have evolved multiple mechanisms, such as the inhibition of PKR by the non-structural protein (NS1) of the influenza virus. More recently, PKR has been implicated in several neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer, Huntington, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Anti-EPHB2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-EPHB2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

EphrinB proteins are thought to play key roles in cellular functions as diverse as neuronal migration and blood vessel development (Flanagan and Vancerhaeghen, 1998; Dufour et al., 2003; Oike et al., 2002). EphrinB molecules expressed at the membrane surface bind to the EphB family receptors on target cells during cellto cell contact. This interaction leads to cell signaling in the target cell but also generates a reverse signal in the cell expressing EphrinB on its surface. This reverse signaling event is thought to be critical for vessel maturation and neuronal development. Importantly, tyrosine phosphorylation of EphrinB is thought to be a critical component of this reverse signaling event (Palmer et al., 2002). Recent work suggests that phosphorylation of a specific EphrinB residue (Tyr298) plays a key role in EphrinB signaling (Kalo, et al., 2001).

Anti-TP53AIP1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-TP53AIP1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

The p53 tumor-suppressor protein can induce apoptosis through transcriptional activation of several genes. One such protein p53AIP was initially identified through direct cloning of p53 binding sequences from human genomic DNA. Its expression is inducible by p53 following p53 phosphorylation on Ser-46, and ectopic expression of p53AIP leads to apoptotic cell death. Both the phosphorylation of p53 and the induction of p53AIP were blocked by inhibiting the expression of p53DINP1 by the introduction of antisense oligonucleotides to p53DINP1, suggesting that the apoptosis associated with p53AIP expression is regulated by p53DINP1. Finally, as adenovirus-mediated introduction of p53AIP has been shown to suppress tumor growth in vivo, it has been suggested that p53AIP gene transfer may become a useful strategy for the treatment of p53-resistant cancers. Three isoforms of p53AIP are known to exist; this antibody will detect all three.

Anti-IRAK2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-IRAK2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

The pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-1 induces cellular response through two subunits of its receptor, IL-1 receptor I (IL-1RI) and IL-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RAcP). IL-1 receptor-associated kinase (IRAK) mediates activation of NF-kB, which is a pivotal transcription factor mediating inflammatory and immune response. A novel member in the IRAK/Pelle family was recently identified and designated IRAK2. Both IRAK and IRAK2 recruit to the subunits of the IL-1R complex after IL-1 binding and lead to NF-kB activation. IRAKs also associate with Toll-like receptor (TLR) and the dominant negative mutants of IRAKs inhibit LPS-induced NF-kB activation. Members in IRAK/Pelle family play a central role in IL-1R and TLR mediated inflammatory responses to cytokine IL-1 and LPS. IRAK2 is expressed in a variety of human tissues.

Anti-MAVS Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-MAVS Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

Two distinct signaling pathways activate the host innate immunity against viral infection. One pathway is reliant on members of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family while the other uses the RNA helicase RIG-I as a receptor for intracellular viral double-stranded RNA as a trigger for the immune response. VISA is a mitochondrial membrane protein that was identified as a critical component in the IFN-b signaling pathways that recruits IRF-3 to RIG-I, leading to its activation and that of NF-kB. VISA is also thought to interact with other components of the innate immune pathway such as the TLR adapter protein TRIF, TRAF2 and TRAF6. VISA also interacts with the IKKa, IKKb and IKKe kinases through its C-terminal region. Cleavage of this region by the Hepatitis C virus (HCV) protease allows HCV to escape the host immune system. At least three isoforms of VISA are known to exist.

Anti-CD8A Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (PerCP (Peridinin-Chlorophyll Protein Complex)) [clone: SK1]

Anti-CD8A Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (PerCP (Peridinin-Chlorophyll Protein Complex)) [clone: SK1]

Supplier: Tonbo Biosciences

The SK1 antibody is specific for the 32-34 kDa alpha chain of human CD8, known as CD8a or CD8 alpha. CD8a can form a homodimer (CD8 alpha-alpha), but is more commonly expressed as a heterodimer with a second chain known as CD8b or CD8 beta. CD8 acts as a co-receptor for antigen recognition and subsequent T cell activation that is initiated upon binding of the T cell receptor (TCR) to antigen-bearing MHC Class I molecules. The cytoplasmic domains of CD8 provide binding sites for the tyrosine kinase lck, facilitating intracellular signaling events that lead to T cell activation, development, and cytotoxic effector functions. CD8+ cytotoxic T cells (CTLs) play an important role in inducing cell death of tumor cells, as well as cells infected by virus, bacteria or parasites.

Anti-EDA2R Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-EDA2R Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

X-linked ectodysplasin-A2 receptor (XEDAR) is a recently isolated member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family that is highly expressed during embryonic development and binds to ectodysplatin-A2 (EDA-A2). Two predominantly expressed isoforms, XEDAR-s and XEDAR-L, differ by only a 21-amino region at the juxtamembrane region of the cytoplasmic domain. Neither isoform possesses a death domain and both have been shown to act mainly through TRAF3 and TRAF6 to activate the NF-kB and JNK pathways. Cells transfected with XEDAR and treated with EDA-A2 cause the assembly of a secondary complex containing FADD, caspase-8 and caspase-10, leading to the activation caspase-8 and caspase-3, and finally apoptosis. The EDA-A2-induced apoptosis is dependent on caspase-9 activation, as various pharmacological and genetic inhibitors of caspase-8 blocked apoptosis following EDA-A2 treatment.

Anti-TMED10 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-TMED10 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

TMP21 is a ubiquitously expressed protein that is involved in vesicular targeting and protein transport. More recent experiments have shown that it is also a component in the presenilin complex and modulates the gamma-secretase but not the epsilon-secretase cleavage activity of the amyloid precursor protein. The presenilin complex is composed of the proteins APH1, nicastrin, and PEN2 in addition to presenilin-1. Together, these proteins cleave the amyloid precursor protein at what is known as the gamma- and epsilon-sites and can lead to the accumulation of the Abeta cleavage product that is associated with Alzheimer's disease. Co-immunoprecipitation experiments using antibodies against these proteins also yielded TMP21 indicating that TMP21 may play a role in the regulation of this complex. Suppression of TMP21 expression by siRNA in transfected cells caused increased gamma-secretase activity but not epsilon-secretase activity, and increased Abeta production, demonstrating that TMP21 can modulate gamma-secretase activity.

Anti-RNASEH2A Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-RNASEH2A Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

Ribonucleases (RNAses) H are enzymes that hydrolyze the RNA strands of RNA/DNA hybrids. The major role of these enzymes is to remove the RNA strand from the RNA/DNA hybrids that form during DNA replication and repair. RNAse H2 is made up of three subunits; all three are required for RNAse activity. Recent evidence has demonstrated that mutations in RNAse H2A or any of the other subunits result in Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome (AGS), a neurological disorder with similar symptoms to viral brain infections including high levels of IFN-alpha in the cerebral spinal fluid. Similar conditions are observed with mutations in TREX1, a single-stranded DNA exonuclease, suggesting that RNAse H2 and TREX1 may have similar roles, and that mutations in any of these genes lead to an accumulation of intracellular nucleic acids, triggering an inflammatory response through activation of the innate immune system.
