Digital Counter
Digital counter/timer for measuring duration of motion, transition times, periods, pendulum periods, frequencies, as well as for counting events or Geiger tube pulses. Includes a speaker that can be turned on and off, and power supplies for direct connection to light barriers. For event counting, a fixed counting period can be programmed in a range from 0.1ms to 99999s. Counter events (e.g. start or stop) can either be triggered by a signal to the input sockets or manually via switches. The unit includes a plug-in power supply.

Millisecond Counter
Inexpensive, compact counter for measuring milliseconds (in conjunction with the free-fall apparatus 470162-756 ). Each count is started and stopped by a signal at the input sockets. The device is automatically reset to zero each time it is restarted. Includes plug-in power supply.

Laser Reflection Sensor
Sensor for triggering the digital counter in time measurements on moving objects. Suitable for opto electronic scanning of light and dark markings on moving objects or in conjunction with a reflecting foil to form a wide spaced obstruction sensor. The intensity of the laser beam is adjusted automatically according to the distance of the object. Includes reflecting foil, stand rod with screw thread, and connector lead with 8 pin miniDIN plugs.

Pair of Helmholtz coils
Helmholtz coils are used to produce a homogeneous magnetic field. Experiments on induction and electron deflection can be performed with the Rotary Frame with Flat Coil and the Fine Beam Tube. The coils can be used in parallel or in series and feature a spring clip on the cross bar to mount a Hall Sensor for measurements of the magnetic field. The maximum field strength generated by the coils (~ 4 mT) is approximately 750 times weaker than that produced by an MRI machine (~ 3T), which are known to be safe for use by people with medical implants such as pacemakers.

Free Fall Apparatus ‘g’ Economy with Timer
The determination of the gravitational constant ‘g’ is one of the most fundamental and early physical constants students must derive and observe. This kit has a wooden base, 1.1m rod and a movable electromagnet. The electromagnet can be moved anywhere on the rod and is powered by the timer.
