PureCol® EZ Gel is a ready-to-use collagen solution that forms a firm gel by simply warming to 37°C in an incubator. The product consists of purified Type I collagen at a concentration of 0.5%, (~5 mg/ml), DMEM/F-12 medium and a mixture of L-glutamine and dipeptide (L-alanine-L-glutamine) to provide a long-lasting L-glutamine source for cell culture.
PureCol® EZ Gel is designed to improve gel consistency by pre-formulation of the medium and adjustment of the product to a neutral pH. This product avoids the inconsistencies in the preparation of the gel that can arise through variables of reagent addition, pH adjustment and handling conditions.

PureCol® EZ Gel is ideal for providing a firm gel and can also be used in the preparation of a thin layer for culturing cells. PureCol® EZ Gel collagen is provided in a user-friendly packaging for use and storage. This product is sterile and supplied as a ready to use solution.

TeloCol®-3 bovine collagen solution is derived from an acid extraction process yielding a telopeptide-intact collagen. The pro-peptide regions at both ends of the collagen chain, N- and C-telopeptide regions, are maintained.

TeloCol®-3 collagen is approximately 95% Type I collagen with the remainder being comprised of Type III collagen. Each product includes a bottle containing 50 ml of collagen solution accompanied with a bottle of pre-formulated neutralizing solution for the formation of a collagen gel. This product is supplied at a concentration of approximately 3 mg/ml with the concentration for each specific lot provided on the product label and Certificate of Analysis that is available with the purchase of each product. Advanced BioMatrix offers PhotoCol®, a purified methacrylated Type I bovine collagen kit. PhotoCol® provides native-like 3D collagen gels with the unique attributes to be prepared at various concentrations and crosslinked to provide various gel stiffness.

The PhotoCol® kit consists of purified methacrylated Type I bovine collagen as the core component with other support reagents in the kit.

The methacrylated Type I collagen is produced from telo-peptide intact bovine collagen where the collagen has been modified by reacting the free amines, primarily the e-amines groups of the lysine residues as well as the a-amines groups on the N-termini. Approximately 40% of the total lysine residues of the collagen molecule have been methacrylated. The collagen is extracted from bovine hide and contains a high monomer content. The collagen starting material was isolated from a closed herd and purified using controlled manufacturing processes. A bottle of 20 mM acetic acid solution is provided to solubilize the lyophilized methacrylated collagen at concentrations ranging from 3 to 8 mg/ml.The neutralization solution consists of an alkaline 10X phosphate buffered saline (PBS) solution which provides physiological salts and pH in the final mixture.The photoinitiator consists of Irgacure 2959 to be formulated in methanol (methanol not included) which allows UV crosslinking of the collagen at 365 nm.
