At first explanation, this demonstration seems impossible. However, when students watch this Ballistics Car in action, they will believe and comprehend an important physical science concept.

Simply push the car and eject the steel ball from the attached, spring-loaded barrel. The ball falls back down into the barrel of the moving car, illustrating that the forward motion of the ball is the same as that of the vehicle from which it was ejected. The barrel permits two heights of ball flight.
