Rubber Magdeburg Hemispheres

Demonstrate the force of air pressure without a vacuum pump. The edges of the two 8.5 cm rubber cups are placed together and pressed to expel the air between them. Students discover the difficulty of separating the cups by pulling and tugging on the handles - providing an effective, 'hands-on' demonstration of air pressure.
