In this experiment, students will use PCRand electrophoresis to analyze simulated water samples for the presence of bacteria and viruses. By exploring how wastewater monitoring works, students will gain insight into how biotechnology plays a vital role in protecting public health.

Ordering information: You need: DNA Electrophoresis, Thermal Cycler, Micropipettes: 5 to 50 µl, Blue Light Transilluminator, White Light Box (optional - use if staining with FlashBlue™), microcentrifuge, and microwave or hot plate.
