This research-based online professional development course is designed to help high school biology educators enhance their safety knowledge and skills in the biology laboratory. It covers topics such as biosafety levels, biological hazards, risk assessment, safety equipment, emergency procedures, and legal and ethical responsibilities. It also provides participants with hands-on activities, demonstrations, and resources to implement safety best practices in their own classrooms. It is based on the standards and guidelines from OSHA, NSTA, and the National Association of Biology Teachers.
