Each 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" specimen was chosen to show the following characteristics: cleavage and fracture, luster, hardness and tenacity, color, streak crystalline aggregates, fluorescence (short and long wave), specific gravity, other properties such as optical, thermal and magnetic. Specimens are packed in compartmented trays with a list giving identity and sample origin.
