Reversible Compound Kater's Pendulum

Unlike traditional pendulums, the Kater's pendulum center of gravity does not have to be know in order to determine the acceleration due to gravity.

This pendulum consists of a electroplated brass rod (120 cm long, 10 mm diameter), one pair each of small and large adjustable brass and wooden masses, two steel knife edges set in adjustable metal holders and a metal support bracket for mounting on walls.
