Meets AP Science Practices 4, 5, 6, and 7, and Big Idea 4.

The selective permeability of membranes is of fundamental importance to cellular physiology. Students will perform experimental procedures involving diffusion, dialysis, water potential and osmotic potential. For 10 lab groups.

In this experiment, students safely analyze the enzymatic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide.

Students perform thin-layer chromatographic separation of carotene, xanthophyll, and chlorophylls.
