Staining Tiles
Inert staining tiles identify minerals by facilitating the appearance of characteristic colors. By scraping the specimen across streak testing plates, the color left behind on the unglazed surface classifies the substance. When liquid indicators are added into the spot plate depression cavities containing a sample, the white or clear manufacturing visibly displays the produced shade. Reaction staining tiles are also available in black construction to easily see forming white precipitates.
