The culture supplied includes copepods in various stages of development.

These organisms help keep your freshwater aquarium clean by eating algae and detritus; they won’t eat any plants included in the aquarium.

Predatory. Feeds on Paramecium caudatum. Hay medium.

Characterized by cilia; nearly all possess two types of nuclei.

Scouring Rush. It features reedy, upright growth habit and whorls of leaves at the nodes. The shoots, which contain silica, were once used to scrub utensils and pots, giving Equisetum its common name of scouring rush. It is supplied in a plastic bag with care instructions. Quantity: 8–12 shoots.

Drosophila melanogaster, the common fruit fly, is widely used in genetic studies. They express a number of mutations such as eye, wing, and body mutations. Students can study sex-linked, recessive, and dominant mutations. Drosophila also makes an excellent live food for mantises, small reptiles, and amphibians. Drosophila demonstrates complete metamorphosis with egg, larva, pupa, and adult stages in its life cycle.

The body of this ciliate is transparent, making the large cilia clearly visible.

Each culture shipment is prepared in our laboratories and includes the "Working with Protozoans" manual which contains detailed instructions for subculturing and use.

Although our cultures are considered non-pathogenic, standard bacteriological laboratory procedures should be used at all times. Cultures are available either live for immediate use or freeze-dried for convenient storage until needed.
