Students test the toxicity of salt on the growth of Buttercrunch lettuce seeds, which are easy to culture and require no maintenance between experiments. Applying their results to environmental problems, students then design another bioassay experiment. Includes a teacher’s guide, student copymasters, and materials for five setups.
