Detect approaching lightning strikes from as far away as 40 miles. StrikeAlert, a small, affordable lightning detector provides an early warning of lightning with an audible alarm, which sounds when there is a strike, and a corresponding LED light, which illuminates accordingly at lightning distances of 20–40 miles, 12–24 miles, 6–12 miles, and within 6 miles. Additionally, the storm direction feature uses the trend of strike distances over the last five minutes to indicate, via LED pattern, whether the storm is approaching or departing. A battery check feature also displays current battery level. For convenient use in the field, the detector can be clipped on a belt loop. Powered by two AAA batteries (included).
