Compare monocot, dicot, and gymnosperm germination with one high-quality, exceptionally detailed model. The monocot type is represented by a rye shoot enlarged 10X; the dicot by a two-leaf bean shoot enlarged 5X, and the gymnosperm by a star-shaped fir leaflet enlarged 20X. Students can study root development, the methods by which the different plants sprout, and the structure of each type of seedling because each component of the model is removable for closer examination.
