This scope is tailor made for advanced classes in optical mineralogy. The Bertrand lens contains a field-limiting aperture and operates on a built-in slider, giving you extra-large interference figures, while the super-bright, variable illumination, built into the large, stable base, is gentler on the eyes during extended viewing and allows easier comparison of grain relief. The analyzer and rotatable, click-stop, swing-out polarizer give excellent extinction conditions.
