Creating recombinant DNA molecules, as well as manipulating and analyzing DNA, begins with isolating plasmid DNA. With this kit, your students can isolate plasmid DNA safely and easily to prepare it for restriction enzyme digestion and electrophoresis. Best of all, the activity requires only 15 minutes’ lab time. It comes with instructions and enough materials for ten isolations, with each isolation yielding up to 10 μg of plasmid DNA. A microcentrifuge with a minimum of 10,000 rpm and bacterial culture with plasmid, both required, are available separately.
