Bring one of the most basic concepts in the life science curriculum to life with this model that shows the movement that occurs across a semi-permeable membrane from a hypotonic to a hypertonic solution. Simply place the solution of sugar, salt, etc., in one tube and watch the volume of the other tube rise until equilibrium is reached, then measure the amount of diffusion. Vary the types of membranes and solutions used, or vary the temperature and other parameters to alter the rate of osmosis. It comes with apparatus and dialysis tubing.
