WARD’S Diffusion and Cell Size Lab Activity |
| Visualize an Abstract Concept in Under Fifteen Minutes |
Students simulate “cells” using agar blocks to illustrate the relationship between the size of the cell and its volume. In the process, students predict outcomes by varying the “cell” size, measure the rates of diffusion, and learn about factors that affect the rates of diffusion across a cell membrane. This innovative procedure requires no titrations and uses completely safe solutions. The class-size kit comes with enough materials for 15 setups, a teacher’s guide, and student copymaster. The demonstration size contains enough materials for five demonstrations. Note: Coupon included for perishable materials. Redeem by mail, fax, phone, or e-mail.
