Simulate the different tectonic events at plate boundaries in the Earth, including convection currents, the interaction of continental and oceanic plates in convergent and divergent zones, and subduction. A simple yet effective apparatus, the model consists of two pieces of plastic film representing the oceanic crust and two stationary panels representing the continental crust, all contained in an aluminum frame. Simply move the film in the slit of the plastic base to demonstrate crustal movement. You can even join two or more models together to simulate transform faults.
